この証書は、「育つんです!!スクスク500ml」一本あたり　606g　×　200本分をカーボンオフセット（※）するために利用をされています。


生ゴミは一般に水分を多く含むため低カロリーであり燃えにくいという性質を持っており、焼却処分をする場合には、 焼却処理施設の運用に伴うエネルギーや、燃焼を進めるための高カロリーな廃棄物や助燃剤の投入が必要となりその際に一定量のＣＯ２が発生します。

そこで、アースサポートでは、あらかじめ食品関連事業所から排出される生ごみについて排出者に分別を行なっていただき、 液体肥料にリサイクルした上で、その多くを地元での農産物の生産（循環型農業）に用いております。 このことにより、ＣＯ２の観点からは、生ゴミ廃棄量の低減、化学肥料の使用量の低減、といった効果を得ることができます。

しかし、たとえこのようなリサイクルであっても、その業務上どうしても発生してしまうＣＯ２（回収車両の運行、液肥生産施設の運用、容器の製造等）もあるため、 その製品のライフサイクル中のＣＯ２排出量と同量以上の排出権を無効化して割り当てることでオフセットをしています。

「 育つんです！！スクスク(500mlペットボトル入り)」は国が実施するカーボンフットプリント試行制度下で認定されたＰＣＲ （PA-AN-01：食品廃棄物を原料とした有機質の液体肥料 ） に従ってそのライフサイクルのカーボンフットプリント値の算定を行ない、検証（検証番号：CV-AN-001）を受けております。
今回の１本あたりのオフセット量はその検証値と同量の606gといたしました。 なお、オフセットにかかる費用については、その全額をアースサポートが負担しております。

アースサポートでは、今後もＣＯ２の見える化（カーボンフットプリント）、継続的な削減努力、カーボンオフセットといった取り組みを進めてまいります。

（※）カーボンオフセットとは、日常生活や経済活動において、CO2等の温室効果ガスの排出削減努力を行った上で、 削減が困難な排出量について、他の場所での排出削減努力や吸収量でその全部又は一部を埋め合わせることを言います。

What is the differenct between a CO2 Reduction Certificate and a Carbon Offset Certificate ?

A CO2 REDUCTION CERTIFICATE proves that a certain amount of Emission Credits have been CANCELLED by the owner. On the other hand A CARBON OFFSET CERTIFICATE proves that a certain amount of Emission Credits have been RETIRED by the owner.
